The Law Of God Part Four

The law Of God Part Four

3rd command of the Ten Commandments:

Exodus 20:7

You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.”

God wants his name used with respect and dignity like he wants us to worship him only.

Psalm 111:9

“He has sent redemption to His people;

He has commanded His covenant forever:

Holy and awesome is His name.”

Psalm 111:9 tells us any reference of his name is to be considered holy. So mankind today says ‘Oh my God, God knows, or Jesus Christ’ and there are many more.

Why do we say things in our human language so freely and easy without thinking or really understanding what we are saying?

Is these common words said daily a curse?

When we use oaths do we really justify actions with the fear of God it deserves?

Matthew 5:33-37

Again you have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform your oaths to the Lord.’ But I say to you, do not swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is God’s throne; nor by the earth, for it is His footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. Nor shall you swear by your head, because you cannot make one hair white or black. But let your “Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.”

How many people ignore this command everyday?

Is there more than just words, does this command go deeper?

Mankind’s actions are always greater, most modern humans will use oaths in a Court room but there hearts are far from God.

Matthew 15:8-9

“These people draw near to Me with their mouth,

And honor Me with their lips,

But there heart is far from Me.

And in vain they worship Me,

Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.”

So are we using deception claiming to have higher standards or more noble beliefs than is the case?

Matthew 4:4

But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.”

James 2:10

“For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.”

So do Christians follow all the laws or stumble in one and do not realize they are guilty of breaking them all?

Luke 6:46

But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say?”

Stealing to take (another person’s property) without permission or legal right and without intending to return it. If we steal anything we are taking the Lords name in vain even before we come the statute “Thou shall not steal” Two commandments are broken:

Proverbs 30:9

“Lest I be full and deny You,

And say, “Who is the Lord?”

Or lest I be poor and steal,

And profane the name of my God.”

So as Christians what we say and our actions can break two commandments without even thinking about it too much. So prove to yourself if you are truly a Man of God and abide by a strong faith.

2 Corinthians 13:5

“Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.”

Humans should try to constantly improve every aspect of their life including Christians to be more like Christ. So what would happen if all the world kept the third commandment?

Foul language would be a thing of the past, Christians and everybody else would have strong faith and express themselves engaging totally their minds before opening there mouths. Legal documents would be re-written, music lyrics changed from obscene to Just. There would be nothing false ever again said or written about God, and no actions will incite evil. Everybody would be in complete unity for the spiritual government set so perfectly in place.

The fourth commandment:

Exodus 20:8

Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.”

Is it Saturday or Sunday we should refrain from any work and spend time with God?

The seventh day Sabbath has always been Saturday, the church altered for their own convenience Saturday to Sunday at that time the cult of Mithraism or sun-worship was the official religion of the Roman Empire. It stood as the greatest competitor to the new Christian religion sweeping the country. It also had an official worship day That day was called “The Venerable Day of the Sun.” The church had no authority to do this even if they tell you they did, God made a Covenant with man on this statute forever:

Exodus 31:12-15

“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.”

The Sabbath beautifully proclaimed Israel to all that it was God’s chosen people setting them apart. In The Old Testament if any defiled the law they were to be put to death.

Exodus 31:16-17

“Therefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant. It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel forever; for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed.”

Ezekiel 20:12-13

“Moreover I also gave them My Sabbaths, to be a sign between them and Me, that they might know that I am the Lord who sanctified them.”

Ezekiel 19:21

“I am the Lord your God: Walk in My statutes, keep My judgments, and do them; hallow My Sabbaths, and they will be a sign between Me and you, that you may know that I am the Lord your God.’

Not withstanding the children rebelled against Me; they did not walk in My statutes, and were not careful to observe My judgments, ‘which, if a man does, he shall live by them’; but they profaned My Sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out My fury on them and fulfill My anger against them in the wilderness.”

Holy days is where we get the word holiday from. Sabbath means a day of religious observance and abstinence from work. The Sabbath is God and from God and he expects mankind to follow his mandate, people who reject this statute are insulating him on a personal level.

Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath and not Sunday, Sabbath is Saturday. So are Christians breaking the Sabbath every time they worship on a Sunday and could face God’s wrath?

With Jesus atonement, we no longer are required to keep the Law as a means for our justification. The requirements of the Law were fulfilled in Christ. We now have rest from the Law. We now have “Sabbath continually.

Romans 5:6

“One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind. He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord; and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he who does not eat, to the Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks.”

Colossians 2:16-17

“So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ.”

God tells us keeping this command makes us joyful in the spirit and feeds the creator our love.

The Seventh Day Adventists have every right to worship on the Saturday, however if any member of any church were required to worship on the Sabbath as a sign of “true Christianity or “true” redemption, then that is wrong as we are now free to exercise this statute continually.

Isaiah 58:13-14

If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath,

From doing your pleasure on My holy day,

And call the Sabbath a delight,

The holy day of the Lord honorable,

And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways,

Nor finding your own pleasure,

Nor speaking your own words,

Then you shall delight yourself in the Lord; And I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth, And feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father.

The mouth of the Lord has spoken.”

So how many people work on the Sabbath and worship there wallets?

How many like to stay in bed and ponder about the week ahead giving little thought to God?

How many people attend football matches, participate in hobbies instead of setting aside one day of the week only from their busy schedule?

Taking stock of life on a day of rest is beneficial for mankind. God knows what’s best for us, he is a Father and loves his children who he created in his image. Rest means we should avoid physical activity, spend time with family and children, and ultimately have a relationship with the Father as was intended. We are blessed and receive blessings on the Sabbath day and spiritual peace. If everyone followed the Sabbath what would happen?

All mankind would have no doubt who the true living God is and we would strive to obey other statutes because they are beneficial. The creators laws would replace man’s laws for the better, and logically thinking the satisfaction of the fourth commandment is staggering.

So is the Lord all caring?

We can answer categorically yes as we explore more his government system if it was followed without question by everyone.

The first four commandments tell us how to love the Lord as a Son loves his Father and the rest show us how to love one another, we are in a relationship with Christ and with one another.

The fifth statue tells us how to honor our parents:

Exodus 20:12

Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.”

A child honors his parents first and then learns to honor God. Honor is obedience, and disciple tempered with love installs security in a child. So if the whole world obeyed the fifth commandment we would have wonderful families full of spiritual fruit.

Detention centers would not exist, drug dealers and gangs would fade into nothing. Parents feed us their wisdom of what is right and wrong and God enforces it.

Theft would naturally decrease, father and Mother give values and the creators personality is passed down for them to feed their families in the future. Elderly would be loved and cared for properly not left to waste away feeling alone, unloved and unfulfilled. Authority would be respected and we would have healthy long lives due to abundant God’s blessings.

6th Commandment

Exodus 20:13

You shall not murder.”

Hebrew for the word Kill is murder.

Concerning Violence

Exodus 21:12

He who strikes a man so that he dies shall surely be put to death.”

Each year 437.000 people are estimated to be murdered every year which is a frightening statistic and this figure is continually rising. 36.000 were children under 16 that did not get proper love, care and discipline from their parents. God is the author of life and strictly forbids talking it this includes abortion and suicide. One person commits suicide every 40 seconds which is disturbing to human logic let alone God’s wisdom, but this is exactly what Satan wants. 40-50 million abortions are carried out every single year. A fetus heart beats around 17 days after conception and can hear sound after 23 weeks, mass murder and mankind is responsible yet again,

Ask yourself God is holy are you?

War around the world breeds hatred and revenge, human history is just endless accounts of killings and suffering and war. Nations have destroyed nations, 56 million people lost there lives in World war 2 alone. 14.531 wars have been fought over a period of time that is known and many more has happened that has slipped under the radar.

But of cause we Justify war as right, if we followed this law all national defense budgets would not be needed, no one would live in fear, and police forces would be scaled down.

“Never think that war, no matter how necessary, nor how justified, is not a crime.”

Ernest Hemingway.
