Jesus the Son Of God
God our beautiful creator, largely misunderstood, and free-will has moved us further away from the source of true salvation. The Bible has been twisted, as stated in scripture, to blend mankind’s ideas. Some people including religions, have a hard time excepting that Jesus Christ was the son of God, or say he was a prophet, a human being only, then twist scripture further to quote he was not crucified, and didn’t die for mankind’s sins.
So was our Lord Jesus Christ the son of God?
The Almighty did not engage in any sort of primal sexual activity. We have to be clear here. Our creator is tri-unity or woven together as three persons, to form the God head or better known the Trinity. Father, Son, and the spirit. He is the only person on earth to be born of a mortal mother in Mary, and an immortal Father, inheriting all divine powers from the almighty, as Jesus was manifestation of God, and inheriting mortality which we all share. This means Jesus Christ was able to experience pain, hunger and ultimately death. He was our beautiful redeemer of a world ravaged by sin. Immanuel means God with us, and we know him as a mighty God bringing righteousness to mankind. Remember God appeared in our world in person of his eternal son. Christian faith is not of the teachings, or words of a prophet but the word of the son, God. No other religions represents its greatest teacher asJesus God incarnate. Christianity is the only religion whose leader has risen from the dead. Jesus was and is the greatest teacher that ever lived. Christ shows us he is divine in John:
Honor the Father and the Son
16 For this reason the Jews persecuted Jesus, and sought to kill Him, because He had done these things on the Sabbath. 17 But Jesus answered them, “My Father has been working until now, and I have been working.”
18 Therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was His Father, making Himself equal with God. 19 Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner. 20 For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel.
6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. 9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Adam was a son of God but was created from dust from the ground. Jesus was the only begotten son of God. The Lord is the creator of life.
“You are worthy, O Lord,
To receive glory and honor and power;
For you created all things,
And by Your will they exist and were created.
Adam was called a Son Of God, so should Adam be the son of God? And Jesus was created by God.
38 the son of Enosh, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God.
49 Nathanael answered and said to Him, “Rabbi, You are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!”
Adam was created in a complex blueprint for the one to come in Christ. Both Jesus and Adam were perfect, beautiful mirror images of the Father, so where sons of God. Jesus was also the anointed one.
37 “That word you know, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, and began from Galilee after the baptism which John preached: 38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.”
Son of God does not mean God, Begotten means from the Father, and is a key verse to understanding this topic. Adam was moulded from dust of the earth, and beautifully mirrored into the image of God. Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit of God in the womb of Mary, no sperm was used. So he was begotten, every human being has to have a Father, except for Adam and Jesus, so again Adam was made from the earth, Jesus was conceived by the spirit.
Begotten means one and only son. Adam was a living soul, all humans have a soul, whereas the last Adam or our beautiful Lord Jesus was a life-giving Spirit. He died to release us from sin, and to release the Holy Spirit to us to bridge the separation to indwell inside us through faith. One failed, one succeeded. Jesus was the second person of the Godhead, he is God the son, and existed as a spirit before the world began, and also before Adam. Jesus was fully God, and also fully man, while Adam was only fully man. The last Adam is basically the son of man representing man to dwell amongst them.
Son of God has been misunderstood of terms of sexual reproduction, that God fathered a child through sex with Mary, Most of this concept, is from other religions. Son of God is theimage of the invisible God. If Christ were not God, He could not save us, because only God can save us. But if Christ did not come in human form, He could not save us because only someone who is like us in every way except sin can represent us as our high priest offering himself in atonement for our sins. Salvation of mankind depends upon the fact Jesus Christ is both fully divine and fully human, and that these two natures are knitted together but distinct in one person — the Son of God. Jesus was pure. Pure means Pure of heart or clean. So we had an economic trinity, Father elects, Son redeems, The Holy Spirit convictssin. Father sent the son, but the son did not send the father. The Holy Spirit was sent but did not send the son. They are beautifully the same in divine nature. As a man Jesus died for us, and as divine appeased God the father.
13 “looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.”
5 And now, O Father, glorify me together with yourself, with the glory which I had with you before the world was.
13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. 18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the pre-eminence.
8 Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.”
9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip?He who has seen me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on my own authority; but the Father who dwells in me does the works.
God dwelt in Christ, by doing this revealed himself, and his character, so son of God is a relationship between two persons of God. Jesus was the image of the invisible Lord given to mankind.
The Eternal Word
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
John’s Witness: The True Light
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light that all through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
The Word Becomes Flesh
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
So the term son of god simply means one who is righteous in terms of his character and faith in God. This verse in the bible is very important, Jesus was the incarnate only begotten son, he never had a beginning, for he was present in the beginning.
The Eternal Word
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
So Jesus possessed all the divine nature from the beginning, including righteousness and his actions speak for themselves, he was perfect from sin, and never tempted.
6 For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
If evolution involves the gradual, continuing improvement of the human race, theatonement of Jesus Christ was quite unnecessary. Given enough time, undesirable characteristics, physical defects social and many other problems. will be eliminated. Even disease and dying could be conquered. History fails to support such improvements. The word of God indicates that mankind’s nature is corrupt and evil, manipulated to express this through the works of Satan and his demons. Only through the power of Jesus can human beings have a future of hope and true salvation. Christ taught us to speak thetruth, correct our wrongs, and to serve others with the love of God. There is 39 ancient sources clearly documenting the life of Jesus Christ proving he existed, and 100 proven facts of his beautiful teachings, his life and harrowing crucifixion, to his glorious resurrection. After resurrection there are written accounts proving even more his divinity that saw, talked and ate with the risen Jesus after his death, which is truly thought-provoking and humbling. Christ died for us in the interest of you and me, for the greater good. Isaiah predicted the coming of Jesus Christ 700 years ahead of time and is written beautifully below.
For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
1 Corinthians 15:45-47
“And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made aquickening spirit… The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.”
1 Corinthians 15:26
“The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.” Death is swallowed up in victory, Paul says. And we can say with him, “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?”
1 Corinthians 15:55
Christ has paid the penalty. The last Adam has conquered death and provided a means of deliverance from the first Adam’s fall into sin, resulting in separation from God.
If we want more proof Jesus was God then we go to the verses where he clearly says I AMthe exclusive title for God.
56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.”
57 Then the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?”
58 Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.”
59 Then they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
24 Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I AM He, you will die in your sins.”
61 But He kept silent and answered nothing.
Again the high priest asked Him, saying to Him, “Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?”
62 Jesus said, “I AM. And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.”
I want to finish again on Isaiah from verse 53:3-6 this verse was written 700 years before the life and death of our Lord Jesus Christ. Crucifixion was not even invented yet. Beautifully written and a reminder of the truth of the bible.
He is despised and rejected by men,
A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
Surely He has borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows;
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted.
But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray;
We have turned, every one, to his own way;
And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.
24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God,violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 undiscerning,untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.
