Language Of The Soul

Language of the soul

Music is a universal language which mankind was born fluent as a gift from God, Melody is for our benefit to help us come to the biblical truth. Innovation happens through melody we can enter into a mind-wandering mode which was discovered by neurologist Marcus Raichle in 2001. Music is a form of poetry it has a personal nature, comparison of one thing with another, metaphors, stanzas, patterns and is definitely an art form as it try’s to unlock emotions and feelings like dance is poetry in motion telling a story.

Cardiologists at Oxford University have discovered that some classical music is effective at lowering blood pressure, treat mental conditions, depression, insomnia and is proven to be more powerful than any pick-me-up. So what is actually happening? Music promotes the release of endorphins the bodies natural pain relief chemicals. Melody can also be a poison from not lifting our spirits to making us sick.

Studies carried out by scientist Dorothy Retallack of Denver, Colorado, in 1973 demonstrated the effects of different kinds of music on a variety of household plants. Rock music plants tended to lean away and eventually died whereas soothing classical tunes made plants lean towards the source and promoted healthy growth. We know that sound can shatter glass by high frequency over 100 dB and rock music has been known to brainwash people and maximise stress levels, so we can say it is possible to change our very consciousness.

Clinical psychologists have said that from 23 weeks old a baby in the womb can hear your voice, sounds and pick up tastes from the foods you consume so music, talking and singing is important. The developing child might move more their heart rate may increase responding to things they like, diet can also affect breast milk taste and quality. Psychologists say that babies listen to music in the womb and the right sounds can relieve stress. The Lord tells us the source of music is God himself this proves there are no immoral sounds made from the creator. People may say the Big Bang theory explains the origins of the universe, but it does not explain the primordial dust cloud that so called formed from nothing, came together, solidified and exploded and created everything in a mathematical way, musical notes, balanced in perfection and orchestrated with every component to harmonise life.

Zephaniah 3:17

“The Lord your God in your midst,

The Mighty One will save;

He will rejoice over you with gladness,

He will quiet you with His love,

He will rejoice over you with singing.”

So the Lord gives us Lullabies, lullabies broke down means to lull us to sleep it is calming for us and babies in the womb. Bach’s Cantana is another relaxing stress reliever that calms our mood so we can gather thoughts and energy. A British study found Cheerful music can stimulate chemicals that fight infection and children can be more social, with improved attention spans. Music is distinctly human and requires a God-breathed soul to totally grasp it I would love to part the curtains of heaven to see the musical paradise that awaits in all its satisfying beauty. Melody proves the existence of a creator his presence and essence when mankind worships within our own temples where the Lord dwells we can connect on a cosmic level as the Lord put a song in our hearts.

Psalm 40:3

“He has put a new song in my mouth—

Praise to our God;

Many will see it and fear,

And will trust in the Lord.”

We hear many times we are what we eat and have the first fruits of The Holy Spirit if we are born again so let’s eat godly music natural food for the body spiritual food for the soul:

1 Corinthians 10:31

“Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do do all to the glory of God.”

Ephesians 5:19

“Speak to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.”

Most modern music today does not meet scriptural standards promoting immorality and violence and is not pure or with no moral principles so we need to be careful in what we listen too. Music is to teach us the biblical truth. What does music inspire within our being and heart? Or is it fuelled with substance misuse like Jazz is known for heroin, Reggae drugs like Ganja, Rave music ecstasy and Rock for general drug misuse like cocaine? There are many other music styles like Rap that promote violence, drugs, and swearing. The creator is a musical God and enjoys hearing his creation sing, melody speaks volumes in the spirit realm most Christian music today has a backbeat which is the basis of Rock music used to worship Satan so we can speak to the Devil through melody disguised with a Christian theme. Pop stars make sex seem normal which fuels the younger generation to worship and copy them. Music is attacking the Church with many artists using hidden messages, album covers, and lyrics that promote rebellion, swearing and immorality as standard.

Philippians 4:8

“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”

Christian music should stand out and praise the Lord, not the melody and definitely not the musician. How many artists mention Jesus or sing about worshiping God?

Psalm 66:2

“Sing out the honor of His name;

Make His praise glorious.”

Christian artists are so caught up with their own styles and just the right sound to please the younger generation that the biblical message takes a backseat. A lot of Christian music is just a performance rather than praising Jesus or God which completely destroys the Word and robs the Lord of any praise. The Hebrew word for melody means Choral song and comes from the root to pluck. The Bible tells us to be Christ-like various forms of music is the only way to reach a younger generation which has moved away from God. But how can mankind be Christ-like with a modern melody?

And is Christian groups really sending mixed messages?

Satan tried mixed message tactics on our Lord Jesus by misquoting bible scripture and was told the truth when speaking back.

So how is music misquoted to humans many few actually know the truth.

We all listen to music but never really ask ourselves why we listen to melody? Why does everybody like music? It’s like wondering why do I exist?

Music evokes emotion it energises us making us feel relaxed, happy and spiritual. I mention spiritual because we are all spirit based beings so melody extends beyond entertainment everything has a musical tone or sound, the earth and the planets make a musical note which cannot be heard by the human ear. Planet earth is about 7.8-8 hertz from the Schuman Resonance frequency. The moon has a resonant frequency of 28 hertz, so this tells us music has been in existence when the universe was formed and in the stars.

Job 38:6-7

“To what were its foundations fastened?

Or who laid its cornerstone,

When the morning stars sang together.”

So God created the heavens the universe and also Angels. Angels were not made in the image of God but were given tasks to perform like Lucifer was the Chief minister of music. If Lucifer had a musical ministry in heaven then you can be sure he has a ministry on earth, so we can see now where music has come from and where it’s sadly gone in modern times. Melody is to be used to glorify God on earth, whereas the Devil uses it to glorify evil and spread his kingdom of hatred. If you think about it logically the birth of Rock music in 1955 was there to promote sex in all its glory up to 1965 embracing free love. 1965-1970 was embracing drugs, rebellion and rejecting all morals. 1970-1980 came more violent forms of music, lyrics, and tones, and the 1980s Rock music became more diverse in Religion and in churches. Rock music actually became a sort of religion to many.

The first musician mentioned in the bible is Jubal who was the father of harpists and organists. The harp is mentioned over fifty times in scripture and was a favourite instrument used by King David.

Genesis 4:20-21

“And Adah bore Jabal. He was the father of those who dwell in tents and have livestock. His brother’s name was Jubal. He was the father of all those who play the harp and flute.”

The first musicians mentioned in scripture talk of the important roles that ministers had before The Ark Of The Covenant.

1 Chronicles 16-4

“And he appointed some of the Levites to minister before the ark of the Lord, to commemorate, to thank, and to praise the Lord God of Israel: Asaph the chief, and next to him Zechariah, then Jeiel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, and Obed-Edom: Jeiel with stringed instruments and harps, but Asaph made music with cymbals; Benaiah and Jahaziel the priests regularly blew the trumpets before the ark of the covenant of God.”

So What is music used for?

1. Singing can be a form of prayer in the bible Psalms are a good example of this.

2. Music can be a statement or deceleration to praise and worship God.

3. Melody can improve other Christians to uplift fellow worshippers.

4. Vocal or instrumental sound or both can produce a form of poetry, harmony and expression of emotion.

5. It’s also an important tool for bonding with and caring for infants.

6. We can remember things better in song form.

7. Instruments and voice to be used to praise four our redemption when born again.

8. Healing Influence.

9. To Banish evil spirits.

10. To teach biblical Truth and Wisdom through Psalms, Songs and Sacred melody.

The music we can confidently say has always soundtracked our life’s and makes us feel alive and is nourishment for the soul.

Summary of music.

God gave us music for our enjoyment and to worship him in spirit and truth.  The creator made musical poetry as beautiful as he crafted the universe making us in his image to express emotion and be Christ-like. He gifted us with music to help with bonding and children within family and marriage and to help us remember scripture, the meaning of praise and worship. The almighty wants his jewels of creation to feel alive and loved nourishing our soul with melody and The Holy Spirit.
